6 Cannabis-Infused Holiday Recipe Ideas 420 Culture

The time to stuff our faces and let out our belt loops isn’t over yet! We’re still in the thick of the holiday season which means that feasts and festivities still abound. Whether you’ll be celebrating with loved ones or you’ll be on your own with some Netflix and weed, you could have a holiday feast fit for a king (or a very hungry stoner), just by making a few simple tweaks to traditional holiday recipes.

There are many products that cannabis can be infused into which can then be substituted for other ingredients. Just remember that cannabinoids need to bind with either lipids (such as whole milk, butter or cooking oil) or alcohol like Everclear (the stronger, the better in this case).

The following recipes call for cannabis-infused ingredients which you can make yourself using the Mota Pot or a simple marijuana tincture recipe.

1. Egg Nug

Marijuana-infused Egg Nog (or “Egg Nug” as I like to call it) can add a little adventure to holiday decorating or holiday light tours. To make it, simply substitute canna-milk for regular milk in a traditional eggnog recipe. Garnish the drink with a bit of fresh nutmeg, cinnamon and (if you have one) a fresh marijuana leaf, too.

2. Canna-Stuffing

Stuffing is a holiday tradition that often gets left on the table, but not if it has weed in it! Using ingredients like onions, herbs, chicken broth, dried bread and a whole stick of cannabis-infused butter, you can create a canna-stuffing side dish that will be hard to pass up. This recipe also includes hemp seeds to add an extra boost of protein and other important nutrients. Eat up!

3. Cranberry Marijuana Sauce

Don’t get your cranberry sauce out of a can. With only a few simple ingredients, you can make a marijuana cranberry sauce that is delicious on turkey, dinner rolls or as-is. To make it, just add 2 cups of cranberries, a single cup of liquid (like orange juice or water) and ¼ cup of sugar to a pot and allow to simmer. Once the cranberries are soft and most have popped, add tablespoon or two cannabis-infused butter or oil and stir to combine.

4. Green and Green Bean Casserole

A holiday meal just isn’t the same without green bean casserole and fried onion straws. Infuse whole milk with cannabis (we recommend using a double boiler to avoid scalding) then use it in place of regular milk in this green bean and marijuana casserole recipe. The recipe also calls for bacon, onions, garlic and cheese making this one of the best green bean casserole recipes I’ve found so far -- even without the weed.

5. Toker Turkey

For this year’s main course, serve cannabis-infused turkey alongside the rest of your 420-friendly spread. Preparation is simple, only a few herbs and spices, but the cannabis-infused butter that you’ll spread all over the surface of the turkey and under its skin will make all of the difference. This particular recipe is of interest because it calls for maple syrup in the marinade. Consider me intrigued!

6. Pumpkin Pie with Weed-Whipped Cream

Cannabis may be a bit uncommon in this traditional holiday dessert, but that doesn’t make it any less tasty. By adding a bit of canna-butter to this pumpkin pie recipe, you can put a unique, flavorful spin on an after-dinner go-to. Take it a step farther by making homemade cannabis-infused whipped topping to go with it.

Traditional doesn’t have to mean boring. With a few simple tweaks to traditional holiday recipes, you can have an amazing, cannabis-infused holiday feast that will truly bring the magic back into the season.
